I just go back from a late night run to Krispy kreme, it was closed, so was Walmart. I'm used to being able to jump in my car in the middle of the night and everything being open 24/7. It's like I'm living in a dead town at the moment. Walmart had freight containers barricading their doors. The streets are mostly empty. All the gas stations are out of gas and will be for days. For the last few days you could see the fear etched in everyone's faces. People were hoarding fuel, food and you probably couldn't buy a single piece of plywood in the south right now.

I live about 25 miles from the coast on the AL/Ms state line. So I can understand why everyone is so damn scared, we remember Katrina too well. At the moment it looks like it will be a near miss here, thank God. I have been in a constant state of panic for the last few days, checking weather reports religiously. I am so glad that it is missing us but I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I feel bad for those in its path because I know exactly what they will be going through tomorrow. Absolute hell!

So send your thoughts and prayers for those people that has to ride out Gustav, especially Southern Witch who lives right in it's path and didn't leave.
